Grizzly Growler

I was raised in Europe, and at 35, I’ve traveled to 50 countries. Culture interests me more than anything, and the intricacies of culture (food, drink, dance, stories and art) always are at the forefront of my thoughts. I started writing about beer when I turned 21. I lived in Oregon, and my coming of age coincided with the emergence of microbreweries in that state and in the region. I kept a journal with labels from every beer I tried. I still have that book, and I add to it periodically. I am a former print journalist and a videographer at the Missoulian-turned digital director recently. My passion for storytelling is my life, and blogging about beer is a sidetrack that allows me to creatively highlight one small but significant part of our culture. I don’t know everything about beer, in fact, I don’t even know a lot about any one beer. I love the conversation that beer evokes. I love the tastes and the memories that it creates. Most of all I love that beer is woven throughout our human story. It is the lubricant with which our relationship with planet and people is smoothed.
