Mitch, I have to disagree with your statement that Jason has won more awards than any other Montana Brewer. Jason was a fantastic Brewer for FLBCo and I believe that he will continue to be a fantastic Brewer throughout his career. But I feel I must respond to set the record straight and say that my mentor, Travis Zeilstra, at Montana Brewing Company in Billings, has undoubtedly received more awards. http://www.montanabrewingcompany.com/awards1.html

Just wanted to let everyone know we had our opening two days ago; and the positive response to the new changes was overwhelming. We thank all our supporters. We wanted to remind beer fans that tomorrow is our official opening and all are welcomed. Our new menu is going over really well with our amazing beers. Ryan you sound like you have an ax to grind, get over it. With that being said I can’t wait for these guys to open again since they are using the same beer recipes. Jason was probably the best brewer to set foot in this state. Jason undoubtedly had more GABF and WBC wins than anybody else in Montana. It was sad to hear they had left. Hopefully FLB has found another great brewer to keep up the good work.

Ryan, you sound like someone who is passionate about rules and regulations. I’m passionate about beer. I guess that’s where we’re different. I did some checking today, and I have some interesting findings. I’ll not print them on the blog, for the reasons I stated earlier. Let’s just leave it at I’m really looking forward to having a Montana brewery reopen, especially one that is on the way to Glacier National Park.

Well at least let me respond. The point is the law, and all other breweries have to abide by them, and others have had to change their design because of them. Yes, it is a previous mistake, and it needs to be righted.

As far as the beer goes, well, I am anxiously awaiting the new brews. It is exciting, I just think it should be exciting on a even ground with other breweries.

OK, here’s what is going to happen here. The blog is a blog about craft beer. Comments that do no reflect the mission of the blog, which is to make craft beer a conversation, will no longer be published on this post. I can see too many problems related to this particular project that have nothing to do with craft beer. So, you are welcome to post comments about craft beer here, but if comments unrelated to craft beer continue to show up or accusations that are unfounded start flying, I’ll shut commenting down. This blog is not a place to air dirty laundry, launch accusations and attacks or otherwise carry on. If there are legitimate concerns related to business practices, there are more direct and practical ways of dealing with those concerns or gathering information. Grizzly Growler is for the promotion of the art of craft brewing. As such, my only concern related to FLBC is that a Montana brewery that shut down is open once again, which is good for the state and the economy. Questions about beer styles, brewery design, brewing techniques and taproom life are encouraged. Questions that reflect a personal agenda and that do not push the mission of the blog will not be posted from here on out.

I’m a proponent of open commenting, but in a case like this, personal issues often trump the real conversation, and I’d like to keep people talking about the beer.

Ryan I don’t understand what your point is and your issue with Flathead Lake Brewing Company. It seems like what your bringing up is an issue with something that was done by the previous management. From what I can see here the current (new) management is trying to reopen the Brewery by righting the mistakes from that management. I think it is wonderful that a Brewery that now serves food is opening in the area. It will be a good asset to the community.

OK. Just wondering. Just looked like the deck was visible from the road and was accessible from outside the taproom. I know tamarack has a similar set-up, but they have a liquor license and there are two separate business entities. I guess there won’t be any drinking on the deck then for the grand opening?
