It’s Confirmed, Flathead Lake Brewing Co. to reopen as a brewery and restaurant
Just received word from Sandy at Flathead Lake Brewing Co. that the brewery will reopen as a brewery/restaurant. Here’s what she had to say:
The news is true. We are going to be reopening soon. The exciting thing is it is not just going to be a brewery but also a restaurant serving specialized dishes to compliment Tim’s wonderful beer. Many rumors are out there about why it closed and a main one circulating is about divorce, which was not the reason. Why it closed is past, and we at the Flathead Lake Brewing Company are just focusing on the future, and are all so excited about the new adventure of the new Flathead Lake Brewery under new management.
This is exciting for all Montana craft brew lovers and for those visiting the state.
Prost,
GG

Life is too short for bad beer.
Isn’t the new owner the ex-wife of the old owner? Doesn’t sound like a divorce thing to me!
Prost!
sure sounds like a very bitter divorce thing to me…..
We at FLBC wanted to keep people informed that we are looking at a March opening (we are having many inquires). We will keep you posted for the official opening date and time. For now we can say that our former amazing brewer Tim is officially back and getting ready to start brewing again. We are currently getting our mouth watering foods ready to serve. We will be serving items such as pizza, Italian beef sandwiches, Brats slowly boiled in Tim’s rich beer served on sesame buns, chili and much more. The new amazing group of people working here at FLBC look forward to serving you soon. So, come down and meet us and the new “official” owner. He has always been a part of the FLBC since it opened six years ago. He was just a silent partner then, but has a lot to say now. All comments are positive, and all are about how we are going to make the brewery into a place this wonderful community will be proud of.
Cheers!
The new FLBC family
We are very excited to hear that the Flathead Lake Brewery will be back in business and family friendly now that they will be serving food. We love visiting in the summer and will defiantly be stopping by.
Who cares if the closing had anything to do with a divorce!!! Let’s focus on the positive- that the brewery is re-opening!!!!! I know I’ve had some of my greatest memories there. When I come back to visit Bigfork I will be soooo excited to show my husband a place that always made me smile and let him tatse the great beer they serve and now food….. Thats amazing!!!
Are we not posting anything negative? I thought this was an open forum…
Maybe no one is posting anything negative because there is nothing negative to say. People people people, if you have issues that’s your problem and if you don’t like their beer then don’t go back. As for myself who cares about nothing but good beer I can’t wait to sit on the deck this summer and have a cold one.
People are posting negative things, but I’m not allowing those comments through. This is an open forum, but the tone and accusations in these posts are not up to the standards we have at the Missoulian and at GrizzlyGrowler.com. This is a beer blog that focuses on Montana’s craft beer industry. Related issues of a personal matter are not really something myself or my readers want to spend a lot of time reading and thinking about.
Thanks,
Tim Akimoff
Tim,
I believe Sandy opened the door to the personal stuff maybe you should have removed her comments.
“Many rumors are out there about why it closed and a main one circulating is about divorce, which was not the reason.”
Personaly I dont care I am just glad Tim is back and we can enjoy his fine brews but if its an open forum let it be one and allow people to say what they want.
I believe that was called defending oneself, and I wish I could let this be an open forum. Unfortunately, some of the comments were slanderous, and this blog is tied to a newspaper, and slander just won’t do. If the comments are legitimate and not slanderous or purposefully meant to spread false information, I’m perfectly happy to post them. In fact, I invite others to critique the beers, and opinions are welcome no matter what they think of the beer. However, personal information about people and their place of business just doesn’t make for good conversation.
Tim
Your point is well taken. It really is all about the beer in the end.
Cheers
