Bootleg Beer

This post could cause some problems. And because this is a blog, I’m OK with that.

Imagine my surprise when I pop into a Denver liquor store to check out the local beer selection and I find a six-pack of Oskar Blues Dale’s Pale Ale for $7.99.

“That’s what happens when you get it legally,” said an unidentified source at the brewery on Monday, after I told them what we pay in Montana.

“Legally?” I enquired.

Apparently Oskar Blues does not distribute to Montana, which is why we pay upwards of $10 for six.

What do you think? Anybody feel like me out there? I’d love to see Oskar Blues canned beers in our stores at a price that more reflects the working class. I’m not sure if this is simply a call to a distributor or not, but ff you think Dale’s Pale Ale is good, you should try the Gordon Imperial IPA or the TenFiddy Imperial Stout in a can. Mmm, good, and what a testimony to the good taste of Montana beer drinkers. (and bootleggers)
